What is a RIGHTEOUS JEW?
We have heard of Righteous Gentiles, the non-Jews who helped save the Jews in Nazi occupied Europe during World War ll.
But what about the Righteous Jews? These are European Jews who defied the odds of extermination and became a terrorizing enemy of the Nazis and their collaborators. Their existence is little examined let alone celebrated. We believe it's a benefit to Jews and non-Jews alike to know more about them.
" TOO MANY COMRADES, FRIENDS, AND FIGHTERS
PERISHED IN THE STRUGGLE, AND IN TELLING THIS STORY I BELIEVE I AM FULFILLING THEIR
DYING WISH THAT THEIR SUFFERINGS SHOULD
NOT BE FORGOTTEN."

RIGHTEOUS JEWS! is here, in large part, to spotlight the little known stories of those European Jews who fought the Nazis during the time of the Holocaust. They are seldom told in popular culture in large part because they don't fit into the
Jewish stereotype of a passive, submissive and go along to get along group of people.
Also, we are interested in present day Judaism and those who we believe are breaking new ground and redefining what it means to be Jewish-in writing, music, film and anywhere Jews exist.
